Meet Dr. Joanna Kaye

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 32010) with expertise in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD. I am passionate about helping people decide what matters most to them, and providing them with the tools they need to pursue their goals. My ultimate goal is for you to not need me, as I teach my clients skills to empower them to become their own therapist — and I hope to help you to make meaningful, tangible change using powerful, evidence-based skills. Read here to learn more about my therapy approach.

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology: Drexel University

I have received comprehensive training from several of the top institutions in the world for anxiety, OCD, and PTSD treatment. The treatments I provide are the most powerful and effective treatments available for these conditions

I have worked in a variety of settings, including a community mental health clinic, the world-renowned Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety created by Dr. Edna Foa (the developer of prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD), and two Veterans Affairs medical centers.

Research and Service

I have engaged in research related to evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD. I have been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, and I have presented many research projects at professional conferences. My dissertation focused on understanding what gets in the way of therapists from providing the most effective treatment for anxiety disorders – exposure therapy.

I also serve on the American Psychological Association’s Division 12 Board, where I help to provide resources on evidence-based psychological treatments.

Personal

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my fluffy dog, walking around neighborhoods, and traveling (during non-COVID times!).

I deeply care about the patients that I work with, and I truly love what I do. I hope we can work together to move you in the direction you’re looking for.
